JD Sports has recently been targeted in a cyber-attack, where the personal and financial information of 10 million customers was potentially accessed by hackers. The incident affected online orders made by customers between November 2018 and October 2020. Hackers targeted purchases of products from the following brands: JD, Size?, Millets, Blacks, Scotts and Millets Sport.

JD has said that they detected the breach immediately and responded quickly to secure their server, preventing more access attempts. They sent out the following email to their customers:

The information that was leaked included the following:

  • Full name

  • Billing details

  • Delivery address

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Order details

  • Four final digits of the payment card

What to do next?

  • If you have a JD Sports account, it's advisable to reset your password.

  • It could also be beneficial to change your passwords on other accounts/online platforms especially if you use the same password for a lot of your accounts.

  • Be on the lookout for targeted phishing emails and texts.
