Apple released two security reports on Wednesday, 17 August, 2022, that disclosed serious security vulnerabilities for iPhones, iPads and Macs that have the potential for attackers to take complete control of individual's devices.

“That would allow intruders to impersonate the device's owner and subsequently run any software in their name” - Rachel Tobac, SocialProof Security CEO

Security experts have advised users to update their affected devices to ensure that no security breaches are made:

  • iPhone 6S and later models

  • Several models of the iPad, including the 5th generation and later

  • All iPad Pro models and the iPad Air 2

  • Mac computers running macOS Monterey

UPDATE NOW TO IOS 15.6.1 TO ENSURE THE NEW SECURITY UPDATES ARE APPLIED.

To update your device, go to your iPhone Settings > General > Software Update and download and install iOS 15.6.1 now.
