Woolworths Everyday Rewards members are being urged to stay vigilant about their accounts following reports of a number of security breaches.

Customers have reported on social media that their Woolworths Everyday Rewards accounts had been accessed by thieves using valid login details, who then proceeded to use the banked Everyday Rewards dollars in these accounts to make unauthorised payments and purchases.

While Woolworths has issued out a statement that it has found no evidence that its IT systems have been compromised, it is likely that fraudsters have managed to obtain members' login credentials and account details through online scams or other phishing attempts.

Any Everyday Rewards member who believes that their account has been fraudulently accessed is strongly encouraged to contact Woolworths directly right here. Any fraudulently redeemed points will be reinstated to members in full.

As for all other Everyday Rewards members, it's recommended to update passwords regularly, use strong password combinations, and be cautious of online scams. To help keep accounts safe, Woolworths has shared these important online security tips:

  1. Change your Everyday Rewards password if you’ve used it for another account. Make sure passwords are unique for all online accounts.

  2. Update your passwords to stronger passphrases, including numbers and special characters.

  3. Take a closer look at who is contacting you and be suspicious of calls, SMS or emails that don’t seem genuine. Everyday Rewards will never ask for your login details via phone or SMS.

  4. Log out of your accounts as soon as you’re finished doing what you're doing.
